It's the beginning of Spring and our engineers are busy putting all the pieces of the puzzle together. Check out some of the developments below!
The Hull team have been busy laying out the Carbon Fiber mats to build the composite hullform of the submarine. Carbon Fiber has a very high strength to weight ratio allowing us to build the submarine strong and lightweight!
The drivetrain has finally been assembled which is held together by an Aluminium frame that keeps all the moving parts aligned and working efficiently. In the background we see the unconventional propulsion system of WASUB VII.
After setting our clocks an hour ahead to account for daylight saving, we went outside to relish the sunshine and take a team photo before our monthly team meeting where we discussed about the testing phase of the submarine.
Hope you enjoyed our first Springtime newsletter. The next edition will feature some more information about our testing phase.
See you next time!
